Code for Africa's own per-area counts, the `pn` entries summed over admin units, add up to 10124, a difference of 275 patches or 2.7 per cent. Per area the two agree closely (Oda River 996 against 988, Upper Wassaw 712 against 714, Okapi 275 against 269) except at Kankan, 3,073 against 3,132. The gap is in assignment, not detection: Code for Africa counts each patch once in the area under its centre through its own admin and protected-area join, while this test asks only whether the published centre lies within the published boundary. Patches near a boundary, and patches in overlapping designations, can land on either side of that line. Re-running the same test without stopping at the first match finds 432 of the 9,849 inside two protected areas at once, counted once here and in each area by Code for Africa, and 448 inside two of its 200 records. The story prints the computed figure.",
